New Services Available for GLBT Seniors The Montrose Counseling Center proudly announces a new program called SPRY: Seniors Preparing for Rainbow Years. SPRY is a FREE (well, at least no out of pocket expense) service, providing mental health and support services for GLBT persons who are age 60 and older, including assessment, peer support, counseling, case management, and psychiatry. If you have insurance or Medicare coverage, then they will be billed and your co-pay will be covered by SPRY. For more information, call the Center at 713.529.0037 and press 0. Tell the receptionist that you would like to either talk with a SPRY outreach worker or go ahead and schedule an intake with a licensed therapist. After the intake, you will be assigned to a counselor and/or case manager who will contact you to schedule an appointment.
SPRY also will provide training, consultation and advocacy for health care providers to the elder population to better enable them to serve the needs of GLBT seniors.

GLBT Domestic Violence/Abuse Survivors Group Therapy One in every four gay or lesbian relationships involves some form of physical, emotional, sexual, spiritual, or verbal abuse. That number is even greater in the transgender community. Break the Cycle. You are not alone.
This CONFIDENTIAL, interpersonal group is for GLBT persons to discuss the dynamics and nature of Domestic Violence; work on feelings of shame, guilt and anger; learn how to re-establish connections and gain support from others; give and receive validation and encouragement; and learning to let go and move on.
Group Meets on Tuesday Evenings, 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Montrose Counseling Center, 401 Branard Street, 2nd Floor. Participants may join at any time, but we are asking for a 12-week commitment once you join. Intake required for entry into group if not a current MCC client. A brief assessment by facilitator is required prior to attending group. Must be at least 21 years old to participate.

Hate/Bias Crime Survivor Support Group * Montrose Counseling Center provides services to ANYONE who is the survivor of ANY bias-related crime, regardless of immigration status. The crime committed against you does not have to be based on Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity, and you do not have to report the crime to the police in order to participate.
