Women's Backgammon Club If you love backgammon, and well, who doesn't, this is the group for you. (Note: apparently my clip art program does not like backgammon, since they had no picture, but perhaps I digress....) Although they have only been meeting for a couple of weeks, they alreaady have eight regulars. The gals are aspiring to grow their group so that they can have tournaments and do fund-raising events. The group meets on Sunday afternoons and you can e-mail Emily for more details and times.

Attention Knitters and Crocheters! Loyal reader Maxine is interested in forming a group of like-minded folk to knit or crocket blankets, scarfs, hats etc for AssistHers clients. Sounds like a worthy project, and a fun reason to gather, for those of you who love to play with needles! But be careful: those things can put your eye out! Anywho, if you are interested, email Maxine.

Garden and Yard Society (GAYS) No matter what shade of green your thumb might be, you'll blossom by socializing with other gay gardeners. The Garden and Yard Society wins the best acronym award, for sure! And it also reminds me of my favorite flower joke (well, the ONLY flower joke I know, actually): What is better than roses on your piano? Tulips on your organ! Well, maybe that works better in a verbal format. Anywho....GAYS meets the 2nd Sunday of each month at 4 pm. For more info, email Vickie and Clyde.
