Lesbian Health Initiative (LHI)
There is an ever increasing need for health services for those
without health insurance in the Houston Metropolitan area.  LHI is an
all volunteer organization focused on bringing much needed health
services at no cost to these LGBT women. These services include
free mammograms and some follow-up diagnostic care if needed, free
individual blood tests, oral cancer screening, and more, along with a
diverse array of health education materials.  LHI offer these
services at local Health Fairs held on the first Saturday of June and

Shay's House
Their mission is  to guide each client,  help her to develop a high self-
esteem, become economically independent, provide family nourishment
in a safe sheltering place, and hope to offer support, so
each women/ teens can build a solid foundation to re-enter back in the
community self- sufficient, and reduce recidivism.

Gay & Lesbian Switchboard Houston
Th Switchboard is dedicated to providing information, nonjudgmental
support, crisis information intervention and referral services for our
city's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community.   Their

Houston Buyers Club
Houston Buyers Club provides nutritional supplements and nutritional
education to the community at reduced prices (or for free to those
living with chronic illness like HIV, Hep C, Diabetes and some forms

Montrose Counseling Center provides culturally affirming, quality and
affordable services primarily to Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and

planning, health education and risk reduction youth services
